March Stamp Club Project

In March we did Easter projects.  The first card was done by stamping the Chocolate Bunny stamp on Chocolate Chip paper with Versamark and then embossing it with clear embossing powder.  The eggs were done using the large oval punch and the Designer Label punch was used for the sentiment and the Well Scripted Stamp Set.

The second card was done using the Easter stamp set Abundant Hope and the Faux Silk Technique.  This technique can be found HERE at Split Coast Stampers.  The Modern Label punch was used for the sentiment and the Scallop Trim punch was used for the edges of the Certainly Celery paper.

Wedding Card #3

This is my favorite card of all three. I just finally broke down and bought Circle Circus and boy am I glad I did. I LOVE this set! This card was super simple to make and I am really happy with how it turned out. I used the Chit Chat rub-ons (which are retiring - quick go and get them!) for the sentiment.

Wedding Card #2

This super simple card was done using some retired DSP (I'm not sure of the name - I purchased it off the clearance section online) and the Everything Nice stamp set. I think this card could have used a little something extra - I'm just not sure what. Maybe some ribbon? or a few brads?

Wedding Card #1

I made a few wedding cards for my mom to use this summer, so I will start with this one! Nice and simple, but perfect for a summer wedding. I used the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder and colored the flowers and stems using the Stampin' Pastels. The sentiment is from Tiny Tiny Wishes.

Happy Birthday, Mom

Here is the card I made for my mom's birthday on January 30. I used the new Messages for Mom stamp set from the Occasions Mini. I also used the new Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers (I love these by the way!). The paper is from last year's Sale-a-bration.

Bridal Shower Card

This was a card I made for a bridal shower. I cased this card from Kristin at Stampin' and Scrappin' with Kristin, another blogging demonstrator, who happened to CASE it from another crafter! The original cards were made using the movers and shapers dies, but since I don't have these yet, I used my Cricut to cut out the hearts.

Paper: SU Rich Razzleberry
Stamps: SU Heard from the Heart
Punches: SU Scallop Border

Baby Shower Card

This was a simple gender neutral baby card I made for a friend of mine. The stamped image is from Pink Cat Studio and was colored with Prismacolor pencils. I don't remember which company the paper is from. I had separated all my papers out, so I have no clue who made what. I know better now though, so any new paper stays together by company.

Note Cards

So I found a fellow demo's blog that has some great MDS tutorials. Check out her great ideas and tutorials at Patty's Stamping Spot. She posted a tutorial about using the inside of a card to create another card front or note card to save money. Well, I took it one step further and put 4 notecards onto one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet so I can print from home and cut them apart. This way I get 4 cute notecards from one sheet of cardstock - what a great money saver. The same could be done to create cardfronts that you could adhere to different colored cardstock to create a full greeting card. The possibilities are endless!

Baby Announcement 1

Before our new son, Canden, was born I started designing birth announcements using My Digital Studio. I prepared one for a girl and one for a boy since we didn't know what we were having yet. This card was created in the 5x7 size using elements and papers from the Rock-a-bye kit.

I have since decided to just order from an online site and not use these purely for cost reasons. I spent a little more on Christmas cards then I had planned and decided to save a little bit of money by purchasing a pre-designed card. Here is the Girl announcement and I will post the Boy announcement tomorrow.

2009 Christmas Card

I finally finished designing our Christmas cards and am so happy with how they turned out. I originally designed this card using My Digital Studio, but the company I ordered through had slightly different dimensions that I had to follow, so I recreated it in Adobe Photoshop using the MDS elements. Here is the final image that I used to order our cards. All papers and elements are from the Christmas Jingle Kit.

Unity KOM Blog Hop

Kit of the Month Blog Hop!

I am so excited for this weekends KOM blog hop! If you didn't start at the beginning, head back to Angela's blog and start hopping! I am hoping to get through all the blogs before the weekend starts, so maybe I can get my mojo back. I know there will be such great inspiration at the other 99 blogs!

I've been in a little bit of a crafting funk the past month, so I didn't get a big fancy project done like planned. Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago for my grandma. It uses the April KOM. Head on over to Pamela's World of Scrap next!

CAS07

This card was completed for the CAS07 challenge on SCS. The challenge was to make a CAS card using punches.

Christmas in March

It's that time again! I finished my Christmas cards for the month of March. I didn't think I was going to get them done, but I got 'em done last night!

Hip Hop Hangover!!!

Hip Hop Hangover

Once again it is that time! Yup, its hip hop hangover! Head on over to the Unity blog to see a list of all HHH posts for today! We had an amazing Hip Hop yesterday. Angela and the gang released not one, but TWO great new sets! Floral Friends and Birdie Inspiration are the new awesome sets. I can't wait to get them! There are also some great sales including some bundle packs!

Gus joined us on the chat thread yesterday and was giveaway happy, which worked great for me! I ended up winning a Rubber Rack!!! I've been eyeballing them for a while now and can't wait to try it out! Thanks, Gus!

Ok, enough chatting! Here are my two cards that I created for the Hip Hop Challenges yesterday! The first challenge was to create something using purple, black and white. The second challenge was to create a project with a spring theme. I used the March KOTM for both cards today.

I decided last night to make one last minute project. Seeing all the May Day baskets in the blog hop yesterday, I decided to try to make a little basket of my own. It is by no means a May Day basket in my mind (it doesn't shout SPRING). I think I am going to go get some flowers to put in it and keep at my office. My office is pretty bare right now and could use a little pick me up. I created this using coasters, my BIA, the March KOTM and some ribbon!

Unity Greatness!!!

Well, I missed posting for both Hip Hop on Thursday and Hip Hop Hangover on Friday, so I will just post everything I've got for the week now.

First things first though. Unity is having a HUGE sale this weekend and offering 30% off all orders placed through Sunday March 22! Wow, huh?

Well, on to my creations for the week. I
didn't get much done, but tried to finish a few of the daily challenges at SCS.

The first card here is the one I completed for the Featured Stamper challenge. The challenge was to look through Twinshappy's gallery on SCS and CASE one of her cards. You can see the original card here. I used the swiss dots embossing folder in the Cuttlebug and the Unity Gratitude = Joy set. As you will see after looking at these pics, I was a big fan of the Kraft Cardstock this week. I used it in all but one of my cards!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This next card was completed for the Color Challenge - Riding Hood Red (or Real Red), Summer Sun, Kraft and optional black. This was a tough color combination for me. I think it was the kraft/yellow combo. Turns out it looks good together, but for some reason, my mind didn't want to beleive it. I used the Unity's Feel the Joy stamp for this card.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The third card today was done for the technique challenge - create a card using a ribbon frame. This was actually such a cute idea and I was able to use this great Martha Stewart ribbon I purchased on clearance at Michael's a few months ago. I think the bordered ribbon really works great with this technique. It was pretty easy to do once I figured it out. I only ripped one card front in the process. Pretty good considering what it could have been :) This stamp is Unity's My Heart Sings

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last card I have for the week was done for the Sketch Challenge. This is a great sketch and I really like it, I just am not too sure about what I created with it. This ended up being a lot brighter than I ever could have imagined and you might want to put your sunglasses on! I used a stamp I received in the Unity grab bag a month ago.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

So, I'm a day early, but I just couldn't wait to share my card! I created this simple St. Patty's day card to give to my husband's family along with our daughter's 18 month pictures. We had our annual St. Patty's day birthday party with his family yesterday, so it was the perfect theme for the cards! Looking at it now, I wish I had used some black in the card for an extra contrast (maybe as the mat to the clover).

I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder in my Cuttlebug for the background. The sentiment came from the Stampin' Up Sincere Salutations set and the clover was created with the heart stamp from Stampin Up's sale-a-bration set Polka Dot Punches. The stem was part of a $ set of clear stamps from Michaels. All stamps were stamped using colorbox chalk ink and then embossed using a clear iridescent embossing powder.

Etsy Inspired Challenge #27

This is my card for the Etsy Inspired Challenge this week. This is my first submission for this challenge (I actually just found out about it a couple of weeks ago). I tried to to last weeks challenge, but the technique I was trying, just wasn't working :(

For those of you who haven't heard of the Etsy Inspired Challenge, you can find them at Ashley's Heart Hugs Blog. She posts a new one each Saturday and you have the week to complete them. Each week she highlights an artist's Etsy store for you to gather your inspiration from. This week was TR Mack Studio. They have some amazing art here and I was definitely inspired! Here is a picture of the piece I used for my inspiration along with my card. Hope you enjoy!

For this card, I tore scrap pieces of cardstock, adhered them to a card front and ran them through my Cuttlebug using the Dots and Spots embossing folder. I used the tree from Stampin Up's new Branch Out set. It was a pretty simple card to make, but was fun.

I just ordered the Dream Tree stamp from Unity Stamp company and really wish I had it for this challenge. If it comes in this week I'll have to create another card with it! If you glance through the Etsy gallery, you will understand why I wish I had this stamp now!
