Holiday Glow Art Sale & Show 2009

Well, I made it through my first show. This was a very different show since it wasn't held at a venue with multiple artists - it was at my parent's house! My dad and I participated in a progressive art show where the customers went from house to house to do their Christmas shopping. I believe there was a total of 14 artists at 10 houses participating this year. I was a little surprised at what sold and what didn't - it wasn't quite what I expected - but I will know better for next year now. Here are some pictures of my display and what I had up for sale.

Note Cards

So I found a fellow demo's blog that has some great MDS tutorials. Check out her great ideas and tutorials at Patty's Stamping Spot. She posted a tutorial about using the inside of a card to create another card front or note card to save money. Well, I took it one step further and put 4 notecards onto one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet so I can print from home and cut them apart. This way I get 4 cute notecards from one sheet of cardstock - what a great money saver. The same could be done to create cardfronts that you could adhere to different colored cardstock to create a full greeting card. The possibilities are endless!

Baby Announcement 2

As promised, here is the Boy Announcement. This was also created in the 5x7 size using papers and elements from the Rock-a-bye Kit.

December Stamp Club

This month we made these super cute calendars using the easel card technique. I CASEd this idea from scrapnforfun at splitcoaststampers.com. Thank you to her for this great idea! I used stamps from multiple sets both current and retired and also snuck in one Unity stamp since I didn't have any Thanksgiving/fall themed stamps for November.

November Stamp Club - Pick a Petal

This month we used the Pick a Petal stamp set to make 5 different cards. Here they are! All of these cards are CASEd from images I found on splitcoaststampers.com. All of them but one were done by multiple people so I do not have one specific person to credit. The black and white flower I need to go back and try to find whose it was. I wrote down her screen name and now can't find it. I will update the post when I have the information. Thanks!

Baby Announcement 1

Before our new son, Canden, was born I started designing birth announcements using My Digital Studio. I prepared one for a girl and one for a boy since we didn't know what we were having yet. This card was created in the 5x7 size using elements and papers from the Rock-a-bye kit.

I have since decided to just order from an online site and not use these purely for cost reasons. I spent a little more on Christmas cards then I had planned and decided to save a little bit of money by purchasing a pre-designed card. Here is the Girl announcement and I will post the Boy announcement tomorrow.

2009 Christmas Card

I finally finished designing our Christmas cards and am so happy with how they turned out. I originally designed this card using My Digital Studio, but the company I ordered through had slightly different dimensions that I had to follow, so I recreated it in Adobe Photoshop using the MDS elements. Here is the final image that I used to order our cards. All papers and elements are from the Christmas Jingle Kit.

Butterfly Wall Art

I have seen many people do these butterfly art pieces to hang on their walls. I decided it was time I try it out myself. I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and went through all my scrap papers of various brands to come up with this piece. I put it in a shadow box frame and popped the butterflies up using dimensionals. I am super excited with how it turned out.

My first MDS page!

This is my first page created with my new My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! It was so easy to create. I started with a template, but didn't have enough pictures to fill all the spots so I moved things around and this is what I ended up with. I will hopefully have time to create some more pages and cards soon. If you would like to order My Digital Studio, check out my online store! Remember that if you have a party with $400 in sales, you can earn My Digital Studio for 1/2 price!

Unity Awesomeness

Yesterday I came home to find a quite large box from Unity on my doorstep and guess what it was!!! A few weeks ago during hip hop I won a custom cherry rubber rack signed by the Unity gang! How cool is that? Well, let me tell you it is very cool! I took a naked pic of the rack in all its Unity glory and then filled it with the wood mounts I had laying around waiting for a new home!

Here are pics of my two racks side by side, isn't the cherry one beautiful? Well, they both are but I think it's almost sexy with it's deep red color :)

Unity KOM Blog Hop

Kit of the Month Blog Hop!

I am so excited for this weekends KOM blog hop! If you didn't start at the beginning, head back to Angela's blog and start hopping! I am hoping to get through all the blogs before the weekend starts, so maybe I can get my mojo back. I know there will be such great inspiration at the other 99 blogs!

I've been in a little bit of a crafting funk the past month, so I didn't get a big fancy project done like planned. Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago for my grandma. It uses the April KOM. Head on over to Pamela's World of Scrap next!
