Monkey on the table

This was a fun page to make, well the pictures and story were fun anyway! Madeline started climbing on everything as soon as she was big enough to pull herself up. There were a couple of incidences where we walked into the oh too quiet kitchen to find her on the table getting into everything that wasn't hers! The details stamp is from Unity Stamp, Co.

New Shoes

This is a page that I created to show how excited Maddie was when she got her new shoes. I used a sketch from scrap-maps.com.

2006 Christmas Card page

I cut all the pictures out of the Christmas cards I received in 2006 and put them into a big picture collage. I've had the cards sitting around for 3 years now and just figured out what to do with them!

Central Reunion

Here is the page I put together for Jason's ten year reunion last year. I used Unity stamps for the Report card in the corner and the Cricut for the title.

Zeus and Maddie

This page was also done for the VSBN at SCS. The challenge was to use pictures with a dog or another pet if you don't have a dog and then incorporate a quote about that animal. The journalling says: No symphony or orchestra ever played music like a two-year-old girl laughing with a puppy. -Bern Williams

Canden's First Page

Here is the title page for Canden's first scrapbook album. There is hidden journalling behind the picture that tells him a little about the day he was born and a special note just for him. I hope that he and his family will someday enjoy these little notes. This was done for SCS VSBN Challenge to use the title 'My name is ____'. It was perfect for this page.

Great Grandma & Grandpa page

This was a simple page I put together that has hidden journalling under the picture. This was done for SCS VSBN Challenge to use 3 different types of hearts, so I used punched hearts, pp with hearts and heart shaped eyelets. This was a great page to use up some scraps. My scrap folder is overflowing!

Easter Page

I have finally gotten back into scrapbooking. It has been way too long since I have done this. I decided that I have way too much paper (a lot of which I don't really want to use because it's not my style anymore) so I am going to work on getting rid of it all. I am not allowing myself to buy any patterned paper until I have my stash under control. I will find a way to use it all if it kills me. I may give some away too!

Here is my first page back in business! It was done for the SCS Virtual Scrapbook Night (VSBN) last weekend. The challenge was to use circles and bonus to use a slider. I wasn't able to incorporate a slider with this page, but I got the circles in. The sketch was from Scrapbooks, Etc. printable online page sketches.

2010: A Year in Pictures (set 2)

Here are the next 5 days in my Year in Pictures project. Once again they were created using MDS and the Stampin' Up! papers and elements.

My first MDS page!

This is my first page created with my new My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! It was so easy to create. I started with a template, but didn't have enough pictures to fill all the spots so I moved things around and this is what I ended up with. I will hopefully have time to create some more pages and cards soon. If you would like to order My Digital Studio, check out my online store! Remember that if you have a party with $400 in sales, you can earn My Digital Studio for 1/2 price!

Unity Birthday Week Color Challenge

This week, Unity is celebrating 1 year!!! There will be a challenge everyday and the prize of all prizes is being offered - a full year of Unity KOM! WOW! It really doesn't get much better than that! Well I combined the color challenge (Kraft, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Ruby Red) with the weekly scrapbook sketch. These were some cute pictures of Madeline being goofy!

The Helland Wedding

So, it has only been 3 1/2 years since Jen and Jesse got married. I'm too far behind :) Well, I decided that since I never printed any pictures, it would give me a good excuse to try out a new digi template. This was the first template I have ever used and it went well. I struggled a little trying to figure out what the heck I was doing, but once I got the hang of it, it went pretty fast. I already have my next template picked out! (click on the picture to enlarge it!)

Life Is Good

I created this layout for the digi challenge on SCS. The challenge was to download freebies for a week from divinedigital.com and then create a layout using those freebies. Everything on this page, except the title, was from this kit.

American Idol - here I come

So, I am participating in an American Idol contest through Scrap-Tastic. It is somewhat based on the tv show. Each week we will have a challenge to complete, many of which will involve music influence. After everyone has submitted their pages, the DT will "vote" someone off. This will be a tough one for me, but it is fun and challenging is always good. It gets my creative juice flowing!

The first challenge was to create a page using 10 patterned paper, NO cardstock, and to choose a song to influence your page. The song I chose was Colors by Kira Willey. It is a very simple song, but cute.

My first Hybrid Page

The digi challenge this week at SCS was to create a hybrid page. I have never done anything like this, so it was definitely a challenge. I think I did things a little backwards. I just started by designing the digi portion of the page without thinking about what I was going to do with it when I was done. So, I ended up with a great digi part, and then struggled to find papers that matched the off-colors I had used. I also didn't think about what I was going to do to make it all blend together and work. I know now that you really do have to plan everything out, just as you would a regular paper page. Start with what you want the final layout to be, what elements are you going to use, what colors, how will it all work together. I am excited to try this out again and see what I can come up with. Wish me luck!

Digi #2

So, I completed my second digi page yesterday at lunch. I am not completely satisfied with it, but I'm not sure what needs to be done yet. It may be the title, I think it looks "too digital". I will post what I have and if I make any changes I will just post it again :) I used pieces from the following digi kits:

Christine Smith - Forever Mine kit
Foxy Designs - February Blog Train
Rhonna Farrer - April Free {Pea} Digital Kit

More VSBN pages

So, these have been done for a couple weeks now, but I have been a little behind on posting. I'll try to get caught up on what I've been up to the past couple of weeks. Enjoy!

I have completed 6 of the challenges for the VSBN hosted on SCS this weekend. What a bunch of fun. This is the first time I have participated in one of these. Here are the pages I have created so far!

My First Digi Page!!!

So, I completed my first digi page last night! I have been meaning to sit down and figure out PSE for quite some time now and just never got around to it. Last night I was avoiding homework, so this is what I did instead. Considering it is my first, I am pretty happy with it. I am just itching to learn more though.
